New additions to Alfredo's Nature-Inspired Series: "Snakes by the Tulip" and "The Waves of Life"

Alfredo Garcia's series, "Abstract Elegance", conveys the innate beauty of his natural environment. He uses decorative and spirited visual patterns and earthly tones in his art, which mirror his reactions to social situations and nature. By embracing this motif, Garcia imbues poetry and elegance into his assemblages. Garcia introduces two new additions to his series , "Snakes by the Tulip" and "The Waves of Life".  Both pieces employ a highly energetic aesthetic which corresponds with the heart of nature, while also capturing the intricate patterns of socialization.

In "Snakes by the Tulip", Garcia shows a raised contour of a tulip surrounded by maze-like spirals, embedded into the paint.  The spirals mostly reveal a rusty blue color, yet are also enriched with subtle hints of pink and green. This approach unifies the spirals with the background, which is predominantly a soft petal beige, evoking the freshness of spring.  The overall composition is charged with powerful textured strokes, which mimics the dynamic energy of nature.

Viewers may also recognize the biblical undertones in "Snakes by the Tulip". By integrating rhythmic lines, which represent serpents, a symbol of evil, Garcia makes reference to the story of Adam and Eve.  For this reason, the snakes may be interpreted as the antagonizing force within nature's beautiful organic realm.

"Waves of Life" also correspond with nature's essence, yet Garcia takes a more heavily abstract approach in this art piece.  The entire composition is composed of brisk diagonal brushstrokes, which leave texture at each edge.  This creates the impression of intense rain pore, falling thunderously downward. Moreover, the use of clay-like browns and moldy greens evoke an earthly feel that is typical among Alfredo's nature inspired art work.

Both  the "Waves of Life"  and  "Snakes by the Tulip" make a powerful and thematically consistent contribution to Garcia's Abstract Elegance series.  By appreciating these works both formally and symbolically, viewers are moved by the  these imaginative expressions of the natural world.

The Rhythm of Asian Art: "Dragon Lion Repousse And Chasing"

Delving outside his conventional aesthetic, Alfredo Garcia reveals Asian inspired imagery in his work, " The Rhythm of Asian Art: "Dragon Lion Repousse And Chasing". Using rhythmic white strokes, this elegant piece abstractedly represents the  impression of a dragon over a black surface.  The dragon is subtly suggested as its form is constructed with strokes which have a quick and gestural quality. This rapid approach conveys as sense of ferocity and movement especially with the dynamic curvature of the dragon's frame and its opened mouth and claws.  As the viewer's eye follows the graceful strokes, we experience an entrancing journey filled with solace and mysticism.

There are strong calligraphic influences revealed in this piece. Traditionally, Asian Calligraphy is renowned for its energetic beauty and use of quick, expressive strokes. Garcia employs the Asian influences, charging  his work with an iconic rhythmic appeal that is consistent with the art of Calligraphy. The piece also  has a sophisticated painterly quality through the jagged edges of Garcia's strokes, revealing a rough, yet genuine appeal.

While this ancient imagery is different from Garcia's typical themes, he still integrates his signature aesthetic through his use of colors and textures. Along the border, Garcia reveals muted earth tones, reminiscent of his strong interest in nature. This trademark use of dusty pinks, algae blues and yellow ochres make this piece recognizably Garcian.  Moreover, Garcia adds a rough, soil-like texture to the border, an element which is consistent among the works in his series. The combination of this organic surface and calming colors along with the dynamic composition truly reinforces Garcia's reputation as the master of "Abstract Elegance".

Defying Conventions with the "Shattered Body" by Alfredo Garcia

Alfredo Garcia's mosaic sculpture, "Shattered Body" reinvents one of the oldest artistic traditions in European Art. As he shatters various pieces of patterned tiles and places them onto an unconventional surface, he creates a modern rebirth of the mosaic. Historically,  in ancient art, mosaics were often used for decorating floors and footbaths in wealthy homes. The artists would produce these designs by breaking marble, stone or glass into small pieces and painting wet grout over the spaces between the fragments.  When the cement dried, the pieces would gleam as a solid, beautiful surface.

Although mosaics have become somewhat of a "lost art", Garcia manages to awaken this tradition in his strikingly unique sculpture. He uses shards of tile which feature abstract designs as opposed to solid colors to add complexity and break with tradition. Moreover, Garcia attaches these pieces onto a headless female mannequin figure covered in black grout instead of the traditional white color. By defying the conventional mosaic-tile surface, Garcia forces us to perceive his art work with new eyes.

There are various ways that Garcia encourages viewers to approach his work, "Shattered Body". Firstly, the female figure, is idealistically crafted in terms of anatomical dimensions and shape. In accordance with this theme of idealism, Garcia chooses tiles with tapestry-like patterns, a suggestion of the domestic sphere, which is stereotypically dominated by women. However, by fragmenting these pieces, the female form seems to be escaping from the constrictions of home life, shattering away her conventional mold.  Also, one can  recognize a sense of female empowerment through the careful, hand-made quality of the body, which suggests a sensitivity behind its construction.

4 Reasons why Modern Homes Need Abstract Art

Today's art is often valued by its conceptual merit. In this case, home owners and potential art buyers should carefully consider the ideas associated with the art they purchase. This requires potential art buyers to truly understand the artist who creates the work of interest. Informed buyers will be able to share the value and significance of the art they purchase and share this information with visitors.  Through this art viewing experience, guests can gain a sense of warmth and culture when visiting your home. This leads to the first reason why modern homes need abstract art.

1. It's Conversational
Known as a conversation starter, abstract art can inspire unique reactions or feelings from its viewer. My piece, "Star Masterpiece", for instance, offers an other-worldly experience for viewers with its evocative textural surface and mind-lifting colors. For this reason, it's important to purchase art that does not only flatter a space, but also invites people to exchange opinions and ideas. Often, complex and well-crafted abstract art can evoke thoughtful responses, which will truly enrich your gathering, dinner party or celebration.

2. It's in Vogue
Contemporary home décor is all about is all about exhibiting a fresh and art-forward atmosphere. For this reason, buyers are often looking at assemblage piece, which employ symbolic three-dimensional objects to make a stylish, yet bold statement. Moreover, livening a room with a key assemblage piece, provides a fashionable, cultural environment for your guests.

3. Its Unifying
Abstract art is a powerful decorative tool for uniting colors within a room, creating a harmonious visual and spiritual space. My abstract assemblage pieces primarily feature earth tones, which appear stunning when displayed over cream painted walls, black or brown leather sofas and hard wood floors.

4. It Represents you!
When choosing a piece of art for your home, you're also reflecting your personal identity through your taste. As a result, buyers should make sure to select pieces that represent their core, integrating their spirit within the room.

Alfredo Garcia's Tribute to Synthetic Cubism

Alfredo Garcia's series, "Abstract Elegance" provides a crafty aesthetic, which offers tribute to Synthetic Cubism.  This artistic period was a revolutionary movement which began in Spain during the early 20th century as an extension of analytic cubism. Inspired by the creations of Pablo Picasso and Georges Braques, these artists began to challenge the traditional flatness of the canvas by introducing three dimensional materials onto the picture plane. As a result, the collage was born, a style of art making, which incorporates various materials into the painting. The result is an emotive expression of reality, which is both textural and depth-oriented.

Garcia's most blatant tribute to this artistic tradition is his piece, " Groovy Celebrations". This brilliant mixed media work provides five separate windows into mysterious  abstract worlds. The worlds are framed by a background of heavily textured and dynamic brush marks. He also covers this expressive surface with fusions of his trademark palette: muted earth tones. Moreover, each world is filled with figures gathering together within obscure contexts. Garcia adds collage elements by incorporating newspaper clippings and paper cut-outs into this mixed media fantasy. Through this forceful and mystifying imagery, Garcia captures his  deep-rooted responses to his social environment.

Another piece, which beautifully takes inspiration from Synthetic Cubism is " Observatory Life". This piercing masterpiece offers the viewer a lens into a world of darkness imbued with religious undertones. Garcia incorporates a three dimensional cross as well as image clippings, colored tissues and metal into the powerful scene, depicting a dark city beneath an irate sky of lightening. Ultimately, the use of collage enhances the stimulating spectacle of nature's breathtaking power.
